the apartment, denatured in its original finishes from a cycle of previous interventions, had an arrangement with a central corridor and services on the bottom. the renovation has determined a new typological configuration of the property, converted into a residence and workplace.
the project, which has concentrated on the central space of distribution toilets, has facilitated the presence of natural light in the main rooms providing them with double windows, while the alignment of windows and doors, resulting in the displacement of the doorways in the wall, allows natural light to illuminate the entry and hallway.
the main rooms are designed as flexible 'islands' and at the same time they can communicate and live independently at different times of day. the use of few materials enhances the continuity of the house, as well as the choice of using recessed wall fitting doors and fixed furniture finished with the same colour of the walls in which they are inserted.
the main areas are characterized by light tones and silver gray parquet flooring; the services are treated with dark tones, obtained by finishing in cement mortar.
