.

the house is designed in order to respect the local culture, without imposing the western lifestyle.
for this reason, the type chosen is 'on stilts’, widely used in remote areas of cambodia, which is well suited to the different conditions of the place characterized by flooding during the rainy season, and allows the use of space at ground under the house, where there are lower temperatures during the warmest hours of the day.
the house, sized on cambodian family type consisting of 5/6 persons, can be customized and extended subsequently with the increase of number of members of the household. the adopted distribution system allows the aggregation of multiple modules.
the basic module consists of a unique room with a raised terrace, reachable by an external staircase.
preserving traditions and local customs, at ground level there is a free space below the house which is used for daily activities and diurnal rest. service rooms are located on the lower floor.
the design is simple and the materials are kept to a minimum in order to be easily acquired by the local inhabitants.
